This is not a government or law-enforcement office. Warren County Warrant Records cannot confirm a warrant, accept bond, arrange a surrender, recall process, or provide legal advice. Only the issuing court and the agency that holds a service record can answer official questions.
Where to Contact About Warren County Warrant Information
Use the topic on the notice to choose the first contact. The Warren County Courthouse is at 1 East Main Street, Front Royal, VA 22630, but its clerks keep separate files. Published hours differ by court, so check the linked court page before visiting.

- Existing sheriff-held record: WCSO FOIA Officer Diana Orye, 540-636-5914 or 540-635-2074, or the official Warren County NextRequest portal.
- Booking or custody: Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail booking, 540-622-8620 or 540-622-8683; records, 540-622-5024.
- Front Royal police report: Front Royal Police Department, 900 Monroe Avenue, 540-635-2111. Town police are not the court clerk.
For a missed date, ask the issuing clerk whether the file reflects a capias, new hearing, bond, or required appearance. WCSO Civil Process can explain its service role but cannot clear a court order. A FOIA request should identify an existing record; it does not require a new countywide warrant search.
WCSO says it responds to public-record requests within five working days, though an explanation can allow additional time. The official Sheriff's Office records instructions describe methods and fees. For court calendars and clerk updates, use the relevant Warren GDC court page or call the court directly.
Before calling, read the full heading on the paper and note the court or agency, case number, and date. Start with the court named on the process. The Warren County Courthouse contains multiple clerk offices, so a general courthouse visit may not reach the person responsible for the file. Call the relevant number before traveling and check the official court page for current hours, especially when a deadline or scheduled appearance is near.
Ask the clerk a focused records question: whether the case number is correct, what hearing date is listed, whether the file shows a capias or another order, and what office handles a copy request. A clerk can describe filing and hearing procedure but cannot choose a legal strategy. Only the court can decide whether to change its process. If the court says the sheriff has been directed to serve a paper, contact Civil Process about service or return information; that office does not replace the clerk or decide whether an order should be recalled.
A Front Royal notice may identify town police, but the court route still depends on the document. Warren General District Court publishes Front Royal traffic returns and trials. Town Administration accepts parking-ticket payments; that counter is not a substitute for checking a missed traffic date or a capias with the court. When the notice names another court, use that court even if the citation came from a local officer. Keep the receipt or case number and ask the clerk when a payment or court action should appear in the file.
For online checking, Virginia Online Case Information System can locate many eligible adult cases. WCSO Citizen Connect provides a separate name-based Criminal Papers Search and recent-report controls; its stated update cycle does not make it a complete warrant list or a same-day status guarantee. If a specific existing sheriff-held document is missing, the county records instructions list mail, fax, email, phone, and NextRequest routes. Identify the document or incident and ask about any estimate or deposit. The stated five-working-day response period can be extended as allowed by the records process. A broad request for a newly compiled countywide warrant list is different from seeking an existing record. For custody or booking, contact RSW Regional Jail; jail staff do not decide court process.
